I ran the self clean feature on my Whirlpool RBS305PDQ8. At the time I did not know. At the conclusion of the cycle the keypad worked (could turn oven on, clock, timer), in fact the oven counted down a pre-heat cycle and I could hear the blower functioning. But the elements would not heat. Research online showed that the thermal fuse was the likely culprit. I purchased a new thermal fuse - but could not get the oven out of the cabinet (I am not Mr. fixit... but consider myself competent). I called Sears service - they sent a tech who finally got the oven out of the cabinet, tested the thermal fuse and declared it to be the issue. The part was replaced - but when power was restored the control panel displayed error code F1E2. Sears told me that this indicated that the control board was damaged (microprocessor) and the replacement part was not longer available. I found a refurbished product on amazon (Whirlpool Range Control Board Part 8186024 8186024R Model GBS277PDB3) for $169 - is it likely this will fix my problem? Or am I searching for a new oven that will fit my wall cabinet?
