Control panel went out on my Magic Chef double wall oven. Maytag model 9825XUB.
No way to use the upper oven, but the lower oven still worked. I did some research and found the clock / control panel likely needed to be replaced, but this part is no longer offered anywhere. Apparently there are places that can repair them.
Locally I found someone selling the same model oven removed during a kitchen remodel. So I bought it for $50. Swapped the clock / control panel and the clock started working. Lower oven works.
Then I turned on the upper oven and as soon as the fan / blower kicked on the unit went out with no display on the clock / control panel. I shut off the breaker and then turned it back on 30 minutes later. The clock / control panel is functioning again. I haven't turned on the oven yet.
This is where I am at. I still have the whole 2nd oven that I can raid for parts. I don't want to use the 2nd oven because it is white and original oven and everything else in our kitchen is black. Do I try swapping the fan as the next step? Any other suggestions?
It's a 24" oven, with 22" cutout and the bottom oven is not a full oven. I'm not seeing many options to replace without doing some major remodeling. So my preference is to get this oven working in the short term. Appreciate the help.
