Touch pad will let you select everything but will not change numbers by pressing the up/down arrows. It seemed for a while you could tap it a bunch and it would work - now not at all so i think it is the pad?

You might try disconnecting the flat ribbon cable and then reconnecting it. Sometimes its just a bad connection.
Your model number didn't come up on this site, but it might be the touch panel.

You were so right! - last eve before I got this I took the part off (including the ribbons) and got the numbers off of the part - then decided to put it back in. Voila - works again. thanks so much you had it right...
