Good morning. I believe that I have a bad heating element (water doesn't heat, I can see a burned area on the element). I have reviewed the heating element and control board replacement video and am prepared to purchase and install.

Two other issues with the dishwasher: 1. The soap dispenser intermittently will not open. How should I troubleshoot and repair/replace

2. Our system uses an air gap. As long as i am going under the sink I would like to replace the hose from the dishwasher to the air gap (because it really is filthy) and the hose from the air gap to my disposal (a very stout hose which has collapsed on itself and often does not drain properly. Kindly let me know what parts I need to order and what further information you would need.

The dishwasher serial# is FM5001669.
