We just purchased a Kitchenaid electric range with glass cook top. The glass top was broken when an object fell on it and shattered it. I have seen several posts about fixing this, including replacing just the glass or replacing the cooktop for the range. I believe this would be something we could install on our own. Is this an easy repair? Should we replace the cooktop and not just the glass? Thank you.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for KERS807SSS02 models | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a manual which may help
https://secured.whirlpoo...d/$FILE/KAELECTRANGE.pdf

including replacing just the glass or replacing the cooktop for the range.
I just see the glass which is called "cooktop", Item 4 Section 2.
Note they list 3 so you will have to check with the parts people to make sure you get the correct one. Could be they are different colors.

Is this an easy repair?
See the manual. I would check that all the elements are OK before starting.

Please start your own thread using "Post New Topic"

You will just confuse things by hijacking someone else's thread especially since you have a different problem on a different model number.

thanks
