OK, the old electric oven isn't near me, but I'll be visiting my mother later this month to fix it. She tells me that the oven gets warm, but not hot. The basic question is whether this fault is possibly the heating element. In a simple picture, if the heating element breaks, no current flows, and no heat gets produced. That's easy. But can a heating element fail in such a way that the resistance is high, and it merely gets warm?
Just trying to figure out what to expect here.
