Random red bulb under cooking surface

Hey everyone,
I just purchased a new house and all the appliances seem.to have issues. But today I noticed beneath the cooking surface to the right hand side there is a red bulb that is on. This bulb is between the two rightmost burners. I unplugged the stove and plugged it in but the light came back on. Any ideas what the issue could be?
