After forced self clean oven will not unlock and display is blank. I checked the thermal protection fuse in the back panel and it was bad. I am out of work right now and cannot replace. Shouldn't I just be able to bypass the fuse?

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool GBD307PDB7 Oven - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. Best just to replace the thermal cutoff. This one just kills power to the elements so it is not what is causing no power to the control. There is another fuse up by the control board. Look at the harness item 20 in section07. You can see it (upper left). It is a small torpedo shaped device in a clear plastic cover. You should be able to get just the fuse since the harness is obsolete. Since you blew both odds are there is another problem with the unit which caused it to overheat in self clean. It is not uncommon to blow one of them during self clean but unusual to blow both. Check the oven sensor. Should be about 1065 ohms at room temperature. Also that the cooling fan runs OK. |
