We have a 10 year old Whirlpool Dbl oven. Control board and some other parts were replaced by Whirlpool almost exactly 5 years ago after the unit nearly caught my kitchen on fire.
Current issue: Display was dim for a week but the ovens still worked. Then the display went out and so did the ovens. We turned off at the breaker for a week and tried it again today. Poof, like magic display was fine and the ovens worked...for 15 minutes...now all is dark again.
Checked voltage OK
Checked transformer OK
Bad control board? Again? $350 Again? Time for a new oven?

Unfortunately that is what it sounds like.

Could be but take a look at the following link.
This is a gamble as there is no way to say for sure that the capacitors are bad. manufacturers do not publish board schematics.
But it still may be worth giving it a shot.
Sorry but you will have to wade through a lot of posts.

Only you can answer that.
Depends on if the unit is in good shape, do you like the unit, are you planning other new appliances in the near future with a color change also what is the cost of a replacement unit that you will be happy with.
