I am looking for info before I go to my daughters to trouble shoot Saturday. Her range will notheat and get f31 code, all that I read on the net says oven probe faulty or wiring or EOC. She says she has no probe so I figure more than likely EOC. Any help greatly appreciated!!!

I believe they are referring to the oven sensor ( Item 37 in Section 2 note it is listed at the bottom of the page as F37) and not a meat probe.

Took off back cover and read probe 1.079 kohms. Figure thats OK. Unplugged wiring plug on EOC and cleaned connections(was slight grime on top of plug @ connections, but didn't appear shorted). All working Ok when I put it all back together yesterday. I heated top element till red then did bottom till red. Daughter called today and said its getting the same f31 code again and will not heat.

Looks like it is intermittent.

F31 can be an open or a short.
I would clean the contacts.
Unplug the unit and use electronics contacts cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Do not reconnect till all the solvent has evaporated.

Pull the control board and slightly wiggle the pins while watching the soldered side. Look for any sign of the pin moving. A magnifying glass can help here.
Also look at the solder color, if it is gray instead of silver you may have a cold solder joint. Also a cold solder joint if it has pin holes.
I would also look at the copper tracks on the board for hairline cracks.
Trace the tracks from the connector to the next component connection, again checking for a cold/bad solder joint.

If all the above does nothing then all you are left with is a crap shoot.
Which to replace first the temperature sensor or the board or both.
I think I would try the sensor first as it is less dollars ($16.96).

Murphy's Law is the second part you replace will be the fix.

Clean the eoc and checked for cold solder (found none) now get f13 code. Unplugged for 30 seconds, still get f13 code. I quess new eoc would be next step

Yes Code 13 is a checksum error so odds are high it is on the EOC

how do I remove the old overlay and install on new eoc

You could try heating it up with a hair dryer and peeling it off.

Odds are very high that you will be buying a new one.
It will probably warp or leave most of the glue on the old controller.
