The clock and the temperature readout has slowly dimmed and now we can't read the Display.This unit has touch pad controls. Thoughts on what part(s) to change? Thanks

In 95% of the cases the control/display board has to be replaced.
It looks like this came as a kit see Item 11 in Section 18.
Unfortunately this is no longer available. The description does give a phone number for a repair depot.

There are number of companies that you can find on the web that will fix appliance control boards.

Since parts aren't available, all you can hope for is to brighten it up a bit temporarily if it's not gone too far.

You can clean the front of the display glass and the rear of the display window with a dampened soft cloth.
