I have a Frigidaire dual fuel slide in range (Model PLCS89ECG) and the oven is too hot (according to the wife who is an experienced baker) I bought an inexpensive infrared thermometer and when set at 350 deg, it measures over 400 deg.
I have a printed procedure that came with the oven (I've attached a copy) and I followed that procedure a couple years ago to reduce the temp at that time. It behaved according to what the procedure says.
When I tried it today it doesn't even behave as the procedure says it should. for example it says to press the 'Bake' button for 6 seconds and 0 will be displayed. It does not do that.

I'm completely speculating here and I'm hopeful an expert will set me straight, but I guess I'm wondering if the temp sensor is shot.

I'd appreciate any guidance anyone can suggest.

Dave.

An update.
I took another look at that procedure and the reason it didn't work was because I was trying to do it while the oven was ON - DUH!!!

So following that procedure, I decreased the temp setpoint by 30 degrees but as I mentioned earlier, this is the second time I've done this in 7 years.

Again....any guidance is appreciated.

Anyone have an idea what might be causing the symptom above?
