I have a Kenmore glass top stove. The two large front burners stay on high even if the dial is turned to low. What is causing this??

I cannot find any info on the given model number.
Tried here and at the Sears parts site.
Please check it.
Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.com

Kenmore numbers are usually 3 digits, a period and then an additional 8 digits.

I have checked and rechecked the number ;) It is a Canadian model perhaps that is why you cannot find it?

Yes that would be the reason it does not come up.

I cannot be of much help to you.

If they both went out at the same time then it is probably a wiring problem re: a short somewhere in the stove top.

If one went bad and then the other then it is probably the infinite (control) switches.

I am assuming that the elements are controlled from infinite switches (knobs on the control panel). If they are electronically controlled then that is s different kettle of fish.

Note be sure to always unplug the unit when working on it. 240 volts is lethal!!!

The burners don't always stay on high...sometimes they work great and other times they do whatever they want to...very frustrating. Thanks for your help!
