I have a Whirlpool Gold self-cleaning electric oven, Accubake system. If there's a model and/or serial number on it, they are not only not obvious, they are downright hidden! It does have both French and English labels on it, so it was built for Canada, which is where we are. We had a partial power outage today - one line of our 220-volt system went away at our power meter. That's now fixed. However, the oven display is wonky. It remains blank. Based on suggestions I found elsewhere on the Internet, I pulled the plug for five minutes. When I plugged it back in, the display read 'PF', which I'm guessing means 'Power Failure'. Now when I push 'Clock' the time appears, but 'Start?' appears shortly afterwards. When I push any other button, the display goes blank again. The stove elements heat up, the oven pre-heats OK, and the oven timer seems to work. When the 'cook time' is up, it beeps, and displays 'End', as usual. When I push 'Clock' again, the time appears, but so does 'Start?'. If I push any other button, the display goes blank again, and the clock disappears. I have left it in 'Clock' and 'Start?' mode for five minutes to ten minutes, and it stays that way - correct time, and 'Start?'. But eventually, it goes blank again. Now, we had an eight-day power outage over Christmas, and it returned to full operating condition after that. Perhaps the varying power as our line went kaput today somehow fried the control board? Thanks for any help you can offer. The oven is fairly old, and we probably won't spend a lot of money on it. We've heard that control panels are common problems and can be expensive to replace. But if there's an easy fix...

Cheers,

Jim

We just got exactly the same problem as described after power outage. Any ideas what to do?
