Installing a orifice
I have a GE Spectra natural gas oven. The oven was not heating correctly and seemed take longer to lite than usual and longer to reach the temp. I did some research and believed my problem was the igniter was weak and was not allowing the safety control valve to open properly. I also noticed the valve would make a flutter and popping noise and the burner flame would decrease. I continued to research and read the forums and repair advice that the safety control valve should also be replaced as it could be faulty. I will replace both the safety valve and igniter if necessary, fairly simple task. I completely cleaned the oven inside and out and disassembled the orifice from the bake tube supply to clean and did not pay close attention to how far the orifice was screwed onto the tube. I would like to know the proper install of the orifice to the bake supply tube. It appears the use of a thread sealant is used. Is the orifice threaded onto the tube until the two brass components seat against each other. I considered ordering the Tube, Burner Supply #AP2026834 which has the orifice attached according to the image but this is a costly fix for my issue. Any help would be appreciated.
