When I turn on the fan on my JennAir SVD8310S I hear a rattling and somewhat louder noise than usual. It's been working fine for 15 years. Could it be the downdraft motor or the fan blades in the motor hitting an obstacle? I can take apart the flexible connection between the motor and the oven to check for any obstacles. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Here are your parts

You may be missing the last digit so you will have to choose the correct unit from the Matching Model Number section.

If you are sure it is the blower motor and not the cooling fan then I would do what you said.
Check the blower wheel for any obstacles and that it is tight on the motor shaft.
Also check that the fan blades are clean.

If all OK then you probably need a new fan motor.

Thanks for your reply denman. The rattling noise was caused by a piece of foil paper that I found stuck in the motor blades. Luckily it was an easy fix!

You are welcome

And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.
