thermador oven fan blows constantly

Model Number: cmt 231 wc Brand: Thermador Age: More than 10 years

manufactured in 1989

microwave timer is also out and has been for a long time. the fan on the upper oven just started blowing and won't stop.

an appliance tech told me the fan is related to the timer????? So I'm thinking if I get new timer parts/switches, etc that the fan will work properly. These ovens have worked well for 20 years.

Should I yank them out and get a new oven or..... I don't know if these 2 problems are related and don't like the idea of paying for another tech to come out and say that it is a completely unrelated problem.

Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.
