Model Number: prds366 Brand: -brand- Age: 5 - 10 years
OK- so I diagnosed my xlo burner not lighting as a bad simmer control unit by switching the pot1-pot2, sol1-sol2, and solreturn1-solreturn2 wires at the simmer control and the problem switched to the other burner. Now to my griddle- Takes way to long for the gas safety valve to open. Have recently had house AC voltage fluctuating between 110-120. Noticed griddle lights much faster when voltage is higher, but still way too long. Since the gas valve is wired in series with the thermostat and igniter, I assume the gas valve opens based on the resistance change across the igniter as it heats up. Assuming my assumption is correct, which part is usually at fault? My guess would be the gas valve, but looking at the price of the valve and igniter I would like to be reasonably sure. The valve that is listed in the diagram (#87) is pictured next to #83 which is listed as the griddle valve bracket, however the valve says "grill valve". #84, which is NLA and has no description or picture in the parts list, is pictured next to #86 which says it is the grill valve bracket. Question- Is #87 the correct gas safety valve for the griddle version?
Thank you for any help/ information/ correction. I would really like to understand how this range works as I love it and want to keep it for many more years. Greg Ads By Google Related Models |
