About a week ago, one of the door hinges on my Kenmore slide-in range broke. I went on the Sears parts site and plugged-in both the model number and the part number from the parts list that came with the stove.

This is what came up...
Original part #: 7106P056-60
Replacement #: 12400043

Today, I installed it. Everything went just fine. It all fit perfectly. But, when I slid the door back on the hinges, I discovered that the door would wobble-around on the new hinge. I took the door off again and compared the new hinge to the old and saw that, on the new hinge, the tongue that slides into the door is just slightly less thick. Plus, the old hinge has two bumps in the metal along the lower edge of the tongue, which would seem to make the fit more snug. The new hinge doesn't have these. It's smooth.

So, what can I do? Is there anyone with an old stock of original parts out there?

Click on the picture for more info.
The Q&A does say there is another hing available.
You can then look up that number to see if it is the same as yours.

That second hinge is exactly like the one I took off my stove. If you look at the tongue you'll see two raised points along the bottom edge. The hinge I took off has those, and the replacement Sears sent does not.

I thought I'd update this...
I contacted Sears via an Email Us link on the website, and explained the problem. Within 45 minutes, I got a phone call from Sears customer service, and was able to further explain things...Their website wouldn't accept the full model number of my stove, I was using the part number from the list that came with the stove, etc. The woman on the other end was very nice and understanding. She said that it appeared that the part number on the parts list was wrong. She said she had to pass on the issue to someone who look further into it, and she would get back with me when they determined what would happen.

Today, I got a call back from the Sears woman, and she said they would be sending me the correct part, crediting-back the charge on the original order, then giving me a 10% price break on the new part plus free expedited shipping. The new hinge should be here tomorrow.
