Hi -

I have the single Whirlpool electric wall oven, Model #GBS309. For the past few weeks, everything I cook in the oven does not cook evenly. Specifically, baked foods are raw or under done on the inside while the outside is overcooked and almost burnt.

I've used a thermometer to check the temperature and it seems to heat to 350 and 375 well enough. It did take over fifteen minutes to reach 400 degrees, long after the oven beeped to indicate this temperature had been reached. Then, it went above 400 for a few minutes and then dropped down to around 375.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

Your model number is incomplete and has more digits and we can not give you a complete diagnosis till you supply that.
Continuity test your temperature probe at room temperature it should be 1k and heat the unit up to 350 and it should read around 16k ohms.........
the fluctuations in temperatures is perfectly fine 50-75 degree difference is acceptable variance from most of all manufactures and most consumers are completely unaware of that. Are you using a convection oven? If so keep in mind convection function is for meats only typically and will damage baked goods suchs as cupckakes, pies, cakes, breads irregardless of what the owner manual says...........use the regular bake functions for baked goods not convection.

Sounds like one of your elements is not coming on.

In pre-heat and bake most ovens alternate between the bake and broil elements. This gives a faster pre-heat and in bake provides a more even temperature profile in the oven.

Could be just a burned out element but may be something more serious.
