GE Range - Problem with Self Clean and Broil
A couple weeks ago, Self-Clean and Broil wouldn't work on our GE oven. Bottom element and normal preheat and baking were fine. Last night while my wife was baking cookies, I slid the lock handle to "lock" to see if it would latch (stupid move turns out) and the broiler element came on. Needless to say the cookies burned, and the clock panel went to an F2 error code for overheating. Turning the oven knob to off did nothing as the element stayed on. I turned the circuit breaker off which did the trick, but when I turned the oven on later (normal bake mode) the broiler element came back on again, and again would not turn off with the knob. After killing the power again, I turned the knob to "clean" for a few minutes, the light blinked for the duration (no elements came on), and then the range turned off with the knob. Now we are back to baking method only (no broil or self clean) just like we were a few weeks ago. Any thoughts on fixing the Broil and Self-Clean options?
