The pilot light to the oven broiler went out, and won't re-light (this is an older model that does not have an ignitor, you have to light it with a match). How do I determine if it is a problem with the pilot light itself, or something else?
Also, probably unrelated, when I searched for the model number, I discovered a fine, white powdery substance around both of the stove-top pilots! There's quite a lot of it there, around the pilots themselves & on the underneath side of the stove-top directly about the pilot lights! What in heck is it? I've never seen it before in any of the gas stoves I've used.
