I replaced my gas oven's ignitor today. Went pretty well, but the gas valve wires were pretty snug, and when I reconnected them, one of the plastic wire caps broke off (of the flat connector tip). Is this something to be overly concerned about? The oven works well, but I'm concerned about any damage or stress that may occur without the cap present, and what consequences that may have. Thanks for you help .. Note: I used this video for guidance: Oven Igniter Replacement (part #WB13K21) - GE Gas Range Repair - YouTubeI probably didn't need to disconnect the gas valve wires (oven was unplugged), but I did as the video instructed.

Did this ever become a problem for you? Same thing happened to me. I realize your post is 3 years old, but hopefully you see it and can let me know, since I'm concerned about safety too.
