My Maytag double oven range will not ignite the top oven. The broil will light up then ignite and works fine. I turn on top oven, hear a click and nothing. I took the cover off the cover that sit on the bottom of the top oven to watch the ignitor and it does not even light up. Does this sound like I need a new ignitor?

If the ignitor is ashy or white it needs replacement- If you have an amp clamp multimeter test the ignitor and see if it's pulling at least 3 amps or more.......Disconnect the ignitor and turn that portion of the oven on and take a voltmeter and measure the voltage going to it you should have 120v if you do it's a bad ignitor and if you don't have 120v it's bad/loose wiring connection to the main board or a bad main board. Thanks for the response! So I don't have a multimeter of either type. Is it worth me getting a multimeter or just ordering the part? Which item would I order to replace the ignitor for the upper oven?

Go to an auto parts store you can get a cheap multimeter for 10 bucks....couldn't tell you what part to replace till you diagnose it and determine what's wrong and read the instructions i told you and watch the video. If in fact it is the ignitor it is number 17 on this parts list but you have to figure out what's wrong first.

So I got the multimeter and tested the ignitor line. 120v is the reading I get off the line when I pull the plug from the ignitor. So looks like I need a new ignitor. Can you direct me to the right ignitor part?
