I used our oven a couple days ago & everything was working just fine...when i came home yesterday the power was off on it...i checked the breaker & it had flipped (this was while it was off & not operating). I tried to reset the breaker & it kept tripping right away. I unplugged the oven & then the breaker held...I plugged the oven in at that point & then sparks flew out of the wall & smoke started rolling from the top portion of the oven. (where the timer/clock etc is)
not sure if its worth it to have someone come & look at the oven? could the breaker be bad? we've been in this house w/ these appliances for almost 5 years & never had any issues with the breaker or oven throughout this time. The appliances are all fairly new...guessing 2005 models or somewhere in there. This oven is a glass top...i'll try to find the model # if I can. Any help would be appreciated! thanks in advance...

A model number may help others help you. Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.comnot sure if its worth it to have someone come & look at the oven? I cannot say. Depends on how old the unit is and what kind of shape it is in. could the breaker be bad? I doubt it as a bad breaker will not cause sparks in an appliance. Also it did what it is supposed to do re: shut the the power off if the appliance draws too much power. |
