Hello: I have a question after replacing my glow plug in my oven. I noticed that the glow plug is powered all of the time. I would have thought it would just go out after lighting the gas burner. Reading on the internet, this apparently is normal. So just for my curiosity, does anyone know why manufactures would do this, when it seems like they could use a electronic spark lighting pilot that would then light the burner? Why waste so much electricity? Just wondering if anyone knows! Thanks.
