I need some guidance on a repair problem. Recently we had a control board in our Whirlpool double wall oven replaced. When the repairman first came to look at the oven he determined by the codes that the control panel was bad. The part was ordered but when he was installing it I noticed he was having problems putting the ribbon on the key pad back in. It was almost as if he could not see to do it. Finally he got it in but when we turned the power on the keypad no longer worked. When he opened the panel and tested the ribbon it no longer worked. Inspecting it you could it was now creased. It was not broken through. He told me that part would now have to be replaced. When the owner called a couple of days later he said he could not be responsible for the worker breaking a part the he said was dry rotted. I told him is was not dry rotted before and I was not paying for it because the worker had bent it. My question is does a part like that dry rot?
