A model number may help others help you.

I am assuming you took one of the elements to the appliance store.
Which one?

Does the bake element work?
Does the broil element work?

Note that most units switch back and forth between the two elements when preheating.

What is the voltage going to the unit?
Did this unit ever heat up correctly?
