Default no heat from burners or the oven
Model Number: jbp26wb3ww   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

I have an electric GE range that is almost 10 years old. There is no heat from the burners or the oven. The clock dial does not have any light until I turn the burners on (any one) and then the clock flashes as if the power was off. If I turn off the burner the clock dial is dark again and still no heat from the burners or the oven. The oven light does not come on and the oven dial does not turn the clock dial on either. I am thinking that the computer board behind the clock dial is dead. I have had this issue once before and called a repair tech to come out. When he showed up the range worked on its own and he said he could not diagnose the issue nor repair a working range. If it is the computer board that is dead, how easy would it be for me to replace the part myself. Any help is appreciated.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for GE JBP26WB3WW | AppliancePartsPros.com

It is a GE so getting tech info off the net on it is difficult to say the least.

It sounds like a power problem to me.
You could try shutting the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose Neutral or half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
Check that the power is 240 volts L1 to L2 also 120 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral.
Also check the connection/power in the unit at the terminal strip.

What I think is happening is that you have lost half the line when you turn on the stove element you turn the other half of the line and it is somehow feeding back through the components to power up the control board.

Be careful 240 volts is lethal.

I did shut the breaker off a few times and nothing changed. However, I decided to take the knob and clock cover are off and check to see if all the wires were plugged in and secure. That did not do anything. I had to pull the range from the wall for access and after putting the cover back on and securing it, pushed the range back again the wall and the clock lit up and was blinking. I turned the burners on and they now heat perfectly. My thought are that the power cord may have a short or the connection is loose. I guess pulling and shoving the range allowed the short or the faulty connection to reconnect. I am watching it closely to see if the problem comes back.

I would try to find your loose/poor connection.

A bad connection can heat up so for safety's sake try to find it and repair the problem.
