How do you test a switch on a wirlpool stove top
Model Number: RC8640X804 Brand:

I am trying to fix a Whirlpool Stove top at my house Model Number RC 8640X804. One of the switches on the stovetop is becoming difficult to turn to the off position..the type you press down and turn. Sometimes it turns on with too little effort. I have been nursing it but am afraid that any bump will turn the burner on unintentionally. Now, the surface indicator light is constantly on. I have been turning it off at the breaker box fearful of accidentially leaving the burner on all day when I am gone. I removed the old switch part number switch 3189618. Checked you tube..they gave a process using an ohms (continuity) to check L-1 and H-1, L2 - H2, P - H1 BUT this switch is labeled N, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Is there a way to test this switch before I just order a new one?
