Gene did point this out, but I wanted to clearly add:
I had the same problem and identified to be a problem not with the Electronic Oven Control, but with *the power source to the oven.* I don't know a good way for a non-electrician to confirm you're getting the 220V you're supposed to -- in my case, the sparks coming out of the makeshift duct-taped extension cord when I kicked it were a solid indicator. |

hi there, we have a 2 year old frigidaire ES510L Electric Range, all of a sudden the oven only reaches half of the temperature requested, would this be the same issue, the EOC, so basically the computer that controls and sets the oven temp? the top elements work fine, if we used convection would that be affected as well by the EOC not working properly. appreciate your help - i will miss my oven every single day!

The first thing you may want to do is check the oven temperature probe (#37 on the diagram) resistance. The normal resistance suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature. You have to have a simple ohmmeter in order to do it.
Post the result. Gene.

I have the same problem as the person above. I was using the oven on bake last Easter and the oven made a popping sound and went off. I assumed the bake element went out. I have model #FED355EBA, it's only 4 years old. The oven element costs around $100 so I had to wait until 10/27 to order it and received today, put it in, and the oven still doesn't work. Please advise ASAP. I need my oven Sat. Thanks. Iris Whitehead

I have a similiar problem and it sounds like the EOC needs to be replaced. I heard a pop and the stove works, but not the oven. Is this something I should be able to replace myself (as I'm fairly handy) and should I go through specific checks before purchasing the EOC? Also, any advice on what to do/not do when replacing the EOC? Thank you for your time. Jim |
