Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 2/7/2008(UTC) Posts: 6		I purchased from this site and installed two new door hinges, part no. AP368960. Seemed very simple. But the door doesn't close tightly. Not even tight enough to push the button to turn the oven light off. I've taken it off and reinstalled it but can't see what might be wrong.

Replace the receptacles if there is not possible to adjust them. - The part number for the door hinge receptacle is AP4090071 Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air oven Model SVD48600P Gene.

Are those "receptacles" the pins that the hinges hang on inside the body? behind the hinge retainer and the hinge cover, items 10 and 11? Thanks

Thanks The break down diagrams, I referred to, are corresponding to the model number you posted. On other side this is not a picture - just a schematic. You were right. The hinge receptacle is an assembly of a couple of pins that the hinge hang on inside the body and it is behind the hinge retainer and the hinge cover. Gene.

I just recieved my second set of hinges...and I have the same problem. Just does not close tightly? What can be wrong with the pins?? Especially, if the original hinges closed fine? Is it possible that the new hinges are just not made the same as the old ones? Did the above advice fix your problem???

There is also no way to adjust them... I think the new hinge is just slightly different that the original...which is a real problem as my door does not close....
