Paloco, The "Hi Speed" six(6) inch surface element is no longer available from the manufacturer. They have substituted it to the 1250 watt element

Part number: AP2634798

Part number: AP2634798

(WB30X356). If you wish, you could research the internet or local listings for antique, discontinued or obsolete appliance parts.

Red face Re: 1425 watt 6" "Extra Hi Speed" surface unit

Joe M.,

Thank you for your time and assistance regarding my quest to find a replacement "extra hi speed burner" for my 1966 GE range.

If possible, please obtain the product id (s--if more than one would work) that will help me in my search to locate the item from a NOS or used dealer.

Paloco, The MPN (manufacturer part number) for the six(6) inch high speed burner element is WB30X142 . Whoever you contact should be able to find your part, if you're using that number, if it's available.

Default WB30X142 - 6" surface unit, GE Range

Joe M.

Thank you once again for your time and assistance. I really appreciate it. However, as I checked the MPN you gave me the online descriptions refer to it as a hi rise burner (I believe mine are lo rise burners in which the trim ring stays attached to the burner supports when tilted up). In addition the wattage for a WB30X142 surface unit is 1350, and I thought the "extra hi speed" unit (according to my wiring diagram) is supposed to be 1425 watts.

I would appreciate it if you would look further into this. I did find a unit on ******** that I thought would work, so perhaps you could verify this for me. Its MPN is WB30X305.

Paloco, Baserd on the model number you supplied, and the manufacturers parts manual for that unit, we presumed the right front burner element was the element you were needing. Were we wrong?

Based on our parts information, and the manufacturers parts information, the WB30X305 also "Substitutes" to the WB30X356 burner element. Since the elements have been "substituted" the rating information of the original parts are no longer available.

Default Surface Unit Placement and Diagram

Joe M.,

While I may have misread my wiring diagram, I thought that the "extra hi speed" surface unit placement was the rear right corner. Just to clarify, my 8" surface unit is on the front left corner.

Please clarify if the WB30x305 unit would be compatible with my range.

I am able to attach a wiring diagram for my range if you need one. Just let me know.

Default Wiring Diagram & New Question

Joe M.,

I have attached the wiring diagram for my range for your perusal just in case you do not have access to it already.

Also, I have an issue with two of my surface units on the same range--both are 6" on and on the right side. Only the center coils heat even though I have had the surface units (WB30X356) and their control switches replaced. Please advise.

Default Surface Unit Placement Reidentified & Requests

John M.,

In double-checking my wiring diagram, I discovered that you were correct--the right front corner is the one in which the "extra hi speed" surface unit was originally located. I apologize for my confusion.

I will take for granted, then that WB30X142 was the original MPN. It may be that that identification was reassigned to another surface unit at some point.

I do still wonder if WB30X305 will work in my range? In addition, will it make any difference as to which corner I placed the "extra hi speed" surface unit when I obtain it--is there any difference in the switch or wiring of the right front corner?

Also, please give me the orignal MPNs of the other 6" surface units and the 8" unit for my reference.

Paloco

Default WB30X142 Question

Joe M.,

Today I was able to locate a WB30X142 surface unit online. However, it is described as 250v / 1600w.

Regarding the WB30X305 its details include: both 236 V / 1425 W and 250 V / 1600W.

Please explain the difference between the two surface units and why two voltages and wattages are listed for the WB30X305.

I really appreciate your patience and time.
