What model is this and how do I get the burner trays off?
Model Number: ? Brand:
Kitchen Aid Age:
5 - 10 years
I bought a house with a Kitchen Aid counter top glass burner (see attached pic). Not exactly sure how old it is and getting the model number would involve tearing apart the cabinet or opening the stovetop from the top, which is what I don't know how to do.
The burner grates were caked with years of crud. I easily removed it all by soaking for 24hours in a plastic bag with a little ammonia in it (works great!). However, the drip rings around the burners (or whatever it's called) under the grates are still filthy and I'd like to remove them to clean the same way.
I pulled the grate and the burner caps off, but can't figure out how to get the burner and/or trays off. The burners are solidly attached, and although SOME of them have a small screw on top, taking it out had no effect. Does anyone know what model this might be, and better yet, how do I get those parts off?
