Default 1950's stove - fuse problems?
Brand: -brand-   Age: More than 10 years

Got an old 50's era RCA Victor Hotpoint range/stove. Nothing worked on it when it was acquired. The wiring looked good so we inspected the fuses. All were pretty much finished. We know the stove worked up until 5-10 years ago.

We replaced the fuses with the same types that were in there. Two of the stove top elements now work. The other two blew the fuses in the range when they were turned on. Any idea why? Any idea as to the fuse types for this type of stove?

The are 5 sets (of 2) of fuse plugs plus an 11th fuse plug on the side. After cleaning the inside of the stove near the fuses there's a number under each set that says 15A. Would it mean that 15a fuses should go in both plugs of each set? The fuses that we took out and replaced vary from 15 to 30.

Thanks for any help in the matter!
