I have had a lot of trouble with the broiler on this oven (it seems to have gone though a lot of igniters during its lifetime).
Anyhow, the model information on the igniter is:
272 1023 GR 403
I am not exactly a whiz with a multimeter, but I can hook up the leads and read the numbers. The igniter is reading 848 ohms.
I checked the voltage at the igniter when the broiler is triggered. It reads 37-38 volts.
Any idea what could be the issue? The oven itself is working fine.
Thanks!

Hello, The normal voltage reading suppose to be about 120 VAC. If the voltage reading is so small then the problem is a bad oven control board. Unfortunately this part is no longer available. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for GE JGSP21WET1WW Range - AppliancePartsPros.comGene.

Hi Gene,
Thanks for the reply. I assume the control board is the board that the clock is on? Are there any diagnostics I can run on the board to verify that it is indeed the issue? The oven is still in great shape, so I would hate to replace it. If I was sure it was the board, I would either refurb the current board or buy one on ********.
Thanks!

You can check for 120 VAC between the BR terminal at the control board and the neutral wire while the control calls for Broil. If the reading is incorrect then the control board is the culprit. Verify the warranty and their return policy if you'll buy it not from an authorized dealer. Gene.
