My stove top works fine but my oven doesn't work. I don't smell gas when I turn the thermostat(temperature dial) on no matter what temperature I set it at and the ignitor does not glow. What could be the problem?

The oven doesn't smell like gas and the igniter doesn't glow when I turn the thermostat on no matter what temperature I set it at

Hello,

Check for 120 VAC to the oven igniter while the thermostat calls for Bake.

If the reading is correct, replace the oven igniter.

If the reading is incorrect, remove the wires from the gas safety valve terminals and check for continuity between the terminals.

If there is no continuity, replace the gas safety valve. If you need the correct part number for the gas safety valve, post the serial number of the range.

If there is continuity, replace the oven thermostat.

- The oven igniter Part number: 74007498
Part number: 74007498

- The oven thermostat Part number: 74002390

Hey thanks, I checked VAC on the igniter and got 120 when I turned the thermostat from the off position to the temp settings. I disconnected the safety switch and got continuity when I placed the leads from the meter on each safety switch connection.

Are you sure it would be the thermostat then? If the thermostat is out, why would the igniter get voltage when turned on? Besides allowing voltage to the igniter, does the thermostat control the safety valve also? Hence, no temperature reading, no gas?

I appreciate the help. What should I do next? By the way, the model # is CGR1420BDW and serial # is 15624310AC

I'm afraid you did not get it right.

Based on the results you posted, the igniter is the culprit.
