Problem started with fan running when door was opened. Sent for The door interlock switch Part number: WB24X829.
Now the fan does'nt run when the door is opened but after closing door I press keypad to microwave and nothing happens. Have not started to replace the ordered part yet. Is this all related to the defective switch or has some other part gone bad?

Hi.

The interlock switches are the safety devises which prevents the microwave from starting with the door open.
Replace the switch in question.

Post the results.
