The lower/bake heating element would not turn off and apparently also had no temperature control as it was extemely hot. Touching "off" on the control panel did nothing and the FI error kept being displayed on the panel. After unplugging the stove and pluggin back in the lower element would still be on and heat up even without pushing the "bake" button on the control panel and would not shut off. I thought there was either a short of the element or more likely a stuck relay on the control panel board. After letting everything cool, I accessed the control panel, disconnected the main harness and "banged" on each relay on the board (not knowing which one would be associated with the lower element). This seemed to work as the lower element is now functioning properly.

My concern is that this may happen again and am seeking advise on 1) if there most likely was a stuck relay on the board, what are the chances of it happening again 2) if this is the case, can you order just the relay and not the enitre board? 3) Can a stuck relay be caused by holding the "bake" button down for too long a period of time?

1) Yes, the cause of the problem was a stuck relay. It can happen again any time.

2) Frigidaire (the manufacturer) does not sell it separate. You have to purchase the control board.

3) Absolutely not.

The model number you posted does not come up. If you need the correct part number for the control board, please verify and repost the model number as well as the color of the keypad.
