Model Number: KGRT607HBS1 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: More than 10 years
richdenison@hotmail.comAfter reviewing responses on your forum regarding ovens that will not get hot, I replaced the ignitor. Unfortunately the new ignitor only glows orange and the oven will not light. The broiler and stove top work.

Part number: AP3008600 or there is a loose connection. You'll need a clamp on ammeter or multi meter to test the circuit. With a clamp on meter, place the clamp around one of the igniter wires and select a bake temp. Within 60 to 90 seconds, the igniter should draw 3.2 to 3.6 amps on the meter and glow "white" hot. With a multi meter set to read VAC. select a bake temp. within 60 to 90 seconds, the igniter should produce a voltage reading of 3.2 to 3.6 VAC across the safety valve terminals, with the wires attached and glow "white" hot. Low amperage draw, low voltage reading, or an orange to red glow indicate a weak or damaged ignitor, or loose wire connection.
