Default Tappan propane gas oven wont turn on
Model Number: TGF605WFW5   Brand: Tappan   Age: 1 - 5 years

I have tried replacing the safety valve and the thermostat but to no avail still no oven. I have read in previous posts that I should replace the igniter??? I seem to have a good glow on the igniter and the oven itself actually get semi-warm from the glow? Is this still the problem you think? Any help greatly appreciated

Even the igniter glows, it could be bad.

You can learn how the oven igniter works from the one of my previous posts: Gas Oven not burning

- The part number for the oven igniter is AP2150412

Default Help Gene

Hi Gene,
I received my replacement igniter today. Ordered the part number you gave me and an Electrolux igniter came part # on the box is 5303935066. This igniter is for a 3.2-3.5 amp cooking system. The questions I have are as follows: Is this the right replacement igniter and my oven thermostat is a 5 amp thermostat will this igniter still work ok? Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. If you need more info please let me know.

Sincerely,
Keith

Hi Keith,

This is the right part for your oven.

The part # 5303935066 is the manufacturer part # and the AP2150412 is the APP part number for the same part.

Gene.

Gene,
It worked like a charm. Had the ignitor changed out in 10 mins and everything is working great. Thanks for all of your assistance,
