The left front burner does not work. I replaced the Infinite Burner Switch, very easy. That did not help. It appears I need to replace the burner itself. I do not know how to remove the glass top to get at the burner?

i'm in the exact same situation. have you had any luck with info on the cooktop removal?

Yes I did. I already ordered and received the correct the burner and could not find any info on replacing it. I just went at it. It turned out to be a piece of cake. Real easy. Take a picture of every step so you can refer to them if you forget where something goes. I used my digital camera. Pull the stove out, unplug it and remove the oven door. Ok: Remove the control panel and let it hang there. There are four screws on the front and two on each side. I removed the side screws first, then three of the front screws. My wife held the control panel in place so I could remove the last screw without and problems. You will see the main wires to the underside of the stove top from the control panel. Unplug it under the the top. It only plugs in one way so you can't screw that up. Now there are about eight or so screws holding the top to the base. They are located on the sides and back. You can see where they are if you shine a flase lite inside under the top. Now you have the top loose. It helps it you have an assistant for the next step. Mine was my wife, under some protest. Put a blanket or large towel on your counter or table. Lift the top off the base and turn it over, it's really lite. Carry it to the towel and lay it face down. You will see all the burners and wires. Take a picture, you've been doing that right? Replace the bad burner - real easy. Now put it back together. All done. Mine works great. Hope this helped.

thanks for the reply, doesn't sound like too complicated a job. only thing, i want to test the burner before buying a new one as i've already unnecessarily replaced the Infinite Burner Switch. not sure if there's any other components that can fail between the switch and the burner and i would prefer to be sure.

I did the same thing. Replaced the Infinite Switch, now I have an extra. I had a serviceman here from Sears on my refrig after I replaced the switch. He advised me most of the time it's the burner. Good luck.
