Model Number: sgcs365rb Brand: Thermador Age: 5 - 10 years
I bought this unit used and supposedly it was working fine a few years back and I just got around to installing it in my kitchen. Its temporarily connected to a 20lb tank. I have gas through the regulator but I get no gas at all to any of the burners. Also, I have no spark on either of the xlo burners when I turn them on.The red light does'nt come on either. but I get spark to all 5 burners when I turn on any of the other 3 knobs and the light does come on with them. I bought 2 new xlo potentiometers and installed them with no change at all. I am willing to invest some money in this and I dont mind taking an educated risk if someone out there thinks they might know whats wrong with it. I'm pretty much determined to get this thing working whatever the cost. I'm figuring at this point that it may have more than 1 issue. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
The first and major question: are you sure this cooktop was made or converted later for LP gas? Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for Thermador SGCS365RB Cooktop - AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

The guy specified to me that it was set up for lp when I bought it and he had masking tape on the regulator and on the unit itself that said lp only. Aside from that, I don't know how to be sure. I'm obviously not convinced of his truthfulness at this point. Thanks for taking an interest. Sean

Hi Sean,
Can you describe more detailed how the gas is connected to the stove please? It should be two regulators. One belongs to a tank. The other one is a part of the stove. Gene.

Hi Sean,
It might cause the gas not flowing. The regulator will not operate effectively if the pressure of entering gas exceeds 14" wc. The gas pressure coming out of LP tank is much higher. It must be lowered. Gene.
