Model Number: JDS9860BDB Brand: Jenn-Air Age: 5 - 10 years
The progression of issues with this electric oven with gas cook top is as follows:
Began making key-pressing sounds when not in use and no one touching. Weeks later the oven would randomly shut off. Weeks later the oven will not turn on and control pad not operating. I recycle the circuit and everything is back to good. Now the oven will not power on/heat for more than a few minutes, it will shut itself off. What should I look at first, second, third, etc? Thank you for your responses. Ads By Google Related Models Last edited by toolrules : 02-10-2013 at 08:47 PM. Reason: added electric/gas |

Here are your parts
Parts for Jenn-Air JDS9860BDB Range - AppliancePartsPros.com See the attachment for the wiring diagram. By resetting I am assuming you removed power from the unit for a couple minutes. Sounds like the control board (timer) (item 5 in Control Panel parts section) is bad. Probably a logic chip on board is going bad so it does all sorts of weird things. I am assuming that you do not get an error codes and that when it does run it runs n ormally till shut down.

![]() The chips on the board aren't burned and the solder joints look good. Is it possible it could be a relay on the board? I can't hear the "click" on sound when the oven starts up. The relay would do its part before the processors, right? You wouldn't happen to have a schematic of the logic board or know which relay to pop off? Thanks for your help so far. If I had the money I would purchase a new board. But right now I can't do it and hope a $4 relay is what stands between me and making food for the family again. |

I doubt it. The relay must be closing because you do get heat. That id drops out usually that it's coil drive voltage has been removed. The relay would do its part before the processors, right? No the processor is what is controlling the relay. You wouldn't happen to have a schematic of the logic board or know which relay to pop off? No, none of the manufacturers publish them.
