After installing a new GE Profile gas cooktop, model JGP641ES3WG, the igniter won't stop clicking.

I just found out that my outlet was wired incorrectly by the previous home owner, so the output is 220V instead of 110V.

When I plugged in the cooktop, I suspect either I damaged the spark module, or shorted one or more of the ignition switches.

What is the likely damage caused by the excessive voltage?

Also, to replace either of the these, I do not know how I would access them.

If anyone could provide some guidance, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Glenn
