OK, so I made the mistake of running the self-clean cycle on the bottom oven of a Whirlpool Gold convection double oven (GBD277PDQ3). After completing the cycle and cooling down, I got an error message F5E7, and the door remains locked. Cutting the power for a couple hours and then turning back on does not help (tried twice). Holding down the Start button for several seconds gets me a "lock" icon and the word "Start?", but no further action. Pushing any other button gives me a response "hot", or "hot" and "loc", or sometimes ' ID 27" '.
I can poke at the bottom latch, and it does move freely to the right (more latched), but can't get it to move any further left.
Looking through the forums here, it looks like accessing the control panel provides a path forward, but with the bottom oven locked, I can't access the screws for the side trim, which need to be moved to expose the control panel screws. So, not sure how to access the control panel, or any other part at this point.
I am at a loss as to what to do next, other than call for service. I would love to fix this myself if I could figure out how to access the innards!

denman - thanks for the manuals - it makes the problem much clearer.

The manual/tech sheet did educate me what F5E7 means - door won't unlock! I guess that this means that the control panel is still functioning, and has a sense of humor.

Still looks like the way to access things requires moving the trim, and the only way cited was removing screws that I can't access due to the locked oven. Brian's blog did not have this particular problem described as far as I can tell.

Seems like breaking the trim to access the control panel screws is one option, though I'd rather not do that. I hope someone else may offer a better idea.
