Hi,

Our oven and broiler has been working intermittently for the past few months. As of late it has failed to work more often than not. When the oven works the broiler does and when the oven doesn't work the broiler doesn't either (they are directly related). The display works fine (it says "pre-heat"), but when the oven fails to work you don't even hear the click click sound? When the oven is in failure mode you can't manually light it either? Usually it will take a few days of trying before it happens to work again. Any help would be fantastic....

The first thing I would do is check the gas valve/regulator (#15 on the diagram) as described in one of our previous posts: Whirlpool Oven won't heat up

I have the same valve in my new Kitchenaid stove. The valve makes a loud knock when it is activated. Is it possible that I just have a noisy valve and could get rid of the noise with a replacemant?

If it is less than a year old, do not do anything and call Kitchen Aid for the warranty service.
