The elements in my old oven stopped working one day. I got out my multimeter and there's 120V to the element terminals. I unhooked the terminals and checked continuity. It's at 22.6 ohms. What else should there be? I checked that the ground is good. The oven elements just won't heat up. I find it odd that both elements would give up working at the same time. The only thing that is weird is when I turn on the oven element to say 350, there's 120V to it as well as to the broiler element. Should that be or should it be to only one?

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Power & continuity + a good ground. What else?

Hello,

Sounds like you did the voltage test wrong. Probably it suppose to be 120 VAC to each of the heating element terminals while the correct reading between the wires to both terminals should be 240 VAC.

You have to remove the wires from the heating element and measure the voltage between each wire and the ground and between the wires.
