Model Number: GY399LXUS Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
Hey Gang,
I've got my Whirlpool slide in GY399LXUS oven hauled apart trying to figure out why, after 1 hour, the oven cant get higher than 385. And it takes that long to reach 385. I have a bake and broiler element ordered as i checked the continuity of both and the broiler was 15 ohms while the bake was barely 20. I'll swap them out and hopefully this does the trick. I also ordered an oven sensor even though the one i have reads 1078 ohms at room temp which seems about right. I also checked the wire from the sensor back to the control panel and it also read 1078. So probably not the sensor. BUT - i checked the two pins on the control board where the sensor wire connects and it only reads 325 ohms. i cant find anywhere what this value should be but i'm worried i may have a control board issue. Does anyone have any advice or general comments on what i have done thus far? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.... Shane Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi.
You need to take the plug off the control board and check the resistance at the plug, not the control board pins. If the reading is still wrong - check the wire harness and quick disconnect plug behind the oven. I don't think it's the elements. Please provide the complete model number - missing last digits. Simon.

Ok i replaced the control panel and the oven heats up quickly as it should.
BUT - the convection oven doesnt work. It did before either but i neglected to mention that. THe motor is not clicking on but the element is getting hot. Any ideas? GY399LXUS02 but i think the last two number simply say if the oven stainless, black or white. |

Hi.
Check if there is 120VAC across the motor contacts If it is - then it' a bad motor which is no longer available. Pull it out and take it to the appliance parts store, they may be able to match it. Simon.
