So glad I found this site. I have an almost 4 year old Whirlpool Gas Accubake stove model WFG361LVQ0 that is driving me nuts! I purchased it new and the LP dealer converted it to propane.

On Christmas, my ham just was not getting done. I put an oven thermometer in there and it was registering 75 degrees colder than the desired temp.

About a week later, I set the oven for 410 and the thermometer registered 250.

I have been baking it my extra stove in the basement in the meantime.

So today, I turned it on 350 and let it go and the therometer registered 325. I found the papers on the back of the stove that told you how to push the buttons to give the codes. The temp it gave me was 398 degrees.

When I go through the code getting sequence I get:
Push first time: test
2nd: U 00
3rd: 5105
4th: 2655
5th: Good
6th: 1418
7th: 01:

Does anyone have any ideas for me? I do have an ohm meter and Might be able to figure out a little testing. I just don't have the $$ to call a tech. My plan B is to just go buy a used stove since I could find one cheaper on craigslist than a service call. Desperate for some help!!

Hi Ann,

Your oven does not have a glow bar igniter. Instead there is what Whirlpool calls "Direct spark ignition system" which utilize spark module for both the oven and the surface burners.

Before we will proceed with the troubleshooting I would like to know how exactly did you measure the temperatures inside the oven? Did you do it every time the same way?

Did the oven burner ignite every time you heard a clicking sound?

How long takes to preheat the oven to 350°F?

I set the oven for 350 degrees and pressed start. Yes, I did hear a click, then maybe 5 seconds or so I heard the oven burner come on. The top of the stove has been lighting fine. The oven took 8 minutes to heat up where the digital display said 350 degrees--inside the oven the thermometer read 325.

turned it up to 375 and now temp reads 350 on thermometer. left it alone for about 10 or more minutes. checked temps. few minutes later I just heard burner kick on. Left it alone for a few minutes. opened oven door wide. closed up re checked again. still set on 375 now it reads 325 on the thermometer. Left it alone again for awhile. rechecked. set on 375 thermometer in oven reads 350.


I have an oven thermometer that is a dial gauge setting on the oven rack in the center position. Thermometer is over to the left some. That's where I had it each time I checked the temps.

I did unplug the stove this weekend and moved it out to clean under it as well as look at the back of the stove to see if there were any more diagrams, instructions, etc. Is it possible that unplugging it could reset the electronics in the controls anyway?

Tonight it seems to not be as wild on the temp swings. I'm out of ideas! thanks, Ann

I just went in and pushed the cancel/off and start start buttons. Temp oven was set on is 375 and the temp the buttons pushing gave me is 384 degrees. Don't know if that means anything.

I think the 1421 is how many hours the stove/oven has been used? Is that a lot?

These are results of the self diagnosis. Everything looks fine.

Place the thermometer in the middle of the oven cavity. Set the Bake temperature to 350°F and push the Start button. Wait at least 30 minutes, then open the oven door and check the temperature. Post the results.
